I do not recommend cleaning the stainless steel carafes with automatic dishwasher detergent of any kind as i tried this method with soaking it with boiling water and dish washing detergent overnight and my coffee carafe had a terrible taste and odor of the dishwashing detergent for several weeks thereafter.
